Maybe. But we did fairly elect the party. And while I do not approve of everything Brown has done I a)prefer him to Blair and b) think he got unfairly blamed for things such as the recession.
And I personally believe in voting for a party rather than an individual and the conservative view on human liberties is sketchy at best. I'm still appalled that the one member suggested that B&Bs be allowed to refuse gay customers, I dislike them positioning themselves with European Nazis etc etc
So while I agree that Cameron is more moderate in terms of war issues, I am not so convinced on cultural levels and it feels like a huge step backwards.
Again, I definitely don't agree with all of labours policies and there are issues, such as Nuclear power, where I'm more in tune with the lib dems.
I completely agree with you, regarding there cultural policies. However- I do believe the press send things into the air higher than they should go.
Just as I wouldn't judge an entire city of being left leaning if they voted in Labour in that area, I don't think all of the Conservatives are homophobic, just because of one MP's comments. And the uproar comforts me, insomuch as there 'was' an uproar, and people did make a fuss.
Add to that they have LibDems on their backs! :D
Again with Brown, I agree. I also feel he was blamed for what was not his fault. BUT, linked to that, he STILL takes the credit for the many years of prosperity. Was that not just the way the economy was going ? I really don't like that when it was good, it was him, but when things went wrong it was out of his hands. LOL.
Finally, if Brown had called for an election immediately when Blair left, I probably would have liked him a whole lot more. You can't just run the country unelected! Really arrogant.

Oh yeah. I agree. I don't think all conservatives are homophobic or xenophobic or whatever. But I do think some of them are and I think its in a higher % then the other two main parties. And I don't even believe its always with a nasty sentiment behind it, more a very 'middle england' way of thinking with no experience in these issues and to some extent how the real world works.

I'd agree, if I had more faith that the Lib Dems would have a lot of backbone. Before I drove myself into a grumpy headache *g* yesterday and had to leave the PC, the only info I'd seem was that they agreed to the immigrant cap (supporting earned citizenship for illegal migrants had been a KEY Lib Dem policy so its already a bit of faith lost) and to allowing the tories to significantly cut £6billion in spending.
And then I woke up to the marriage tax break which is something I find pretty abhorrent (although I am pleased that civil partnerships are included) and had to give up looking for now.
Oh yeah. Totally. I don't believe the financial good times were his fault either. Although I think he did quite well setting some of that in place as chancellor. The economy is far too global to be credited/blamed on one person (except for the fail which can kinda be traced back to Bush's de-regulation, but even that has roots further back).
