All I know is that Adam makes me want to share my flail and go 'LOOK LOOK ISN'T HE AMAZING' and so does SPN/J2 [to a lesser extent?], whilst I'm happy to pretty much quietly love things like The Daily Show.
That makes sense. That's how I feel about SGA. And Angel. But for Adam we've made a freaking com!!

Date: 2010-09-22 08:58 pm (UTC)Yeah. My perception of Jensen, for example, although he's amazingly pretty is that he's your garden variety straight boy. I remember seeing a photo of him with dick made out of a napkin in front of him on a table with him smirking at the camera *laughs* He's apparently a nice guy, but I don't find him interesting. Dean is much more an interesting character to me.
In real life I like gay guys more because often that masculinised vaneer (which I think is incredibly tiresome) is not there. Adam is quick witted, he's good at talking, funny and nice. But, also I've never seen a male musician photographed so often and in such a stylised way. We keep seeing gorgeous pictures... And then he gets on stage... :o)

He does seem like a nice guy in a very blokey kind of way and I do like how quietly sarcastic he is, but at the end of the day I'm almost more interested in his skills as an actor then I am in him as a person. LOL I think we're saying the same thing. Yup he does have the added bonus of his amaaaazingly pretty face.
I think that Adam is just a genuinely interesting guy. He's a nice mess of contradictions where he's often :DDDD but also quite bold and occasionally bitchy. I once read a description of him as having lots of mini-Adam's running round in his head. Cute and apt. But yeah being funny and articulate makes a huge difference because, okay, I flail over his looks a lot but if he wasn't backing that up with a personality that's adorable and delightful then I would care to a much lesser degree. I just find myself constantly entertained by him and he's able to make me happy.
OMG agree! The constant playing with his image is fascinating and the fact that its not your normal mainstream kind of representations of masculinity just make him even more interesting. And it doesn't even matter that its been done before because it's still shocking to a lot of people [because it is the face of an actual gay man rather then a pretend gay man a la Bowie?] and very pretty to the rest of us.

Yeah, there are degrees of bitchy, Adam's bitchiness is within the good range, if someone is too nice he/she becomes boring :o) And yeah, I agree with you on his entertainment value.
Bowie was always a little too Art school for me (read pretentious and wanky). I think he was pretend bisexual, wasn't he? These days he says he's str8.

AGREED. His is entertaining bitchiness not roll-eyes bitchiness, plus it's always tempered by his :DDD demeanor.
I've always loved Bowie [I don't disagree on the pretention, just that I like it] but yup straight. Stage/play gay only. As far as I know anyway...

I've always been an Iggy/ Lou Reed girl, myself. We don't see a lot of live footage of Ig but the music is so full on. And, Lou is just amazing.

Eh. I've always kinda liked myth!Iggy more than Iggy's music. And as good as albums like Transformer are, I just can't connect with Lou Reed :( Whereas I do listen to Bowie a lot!

Date: 2010-09-28 05:49 pm (UTC)Ahhh Lou is bliss. I think "Waiting for the Man" is a masterpiece. "Perfect Day" is three minutes of utter blissful perfection. I really like Nico, as well. John Cale's version of Hallelujah was my favourite for years. Except, now I like kd's as well.
BTW The guy I'm partnered with at work put some music on and Adam came on. I asked him if he knew his music. He said he knew his rep. So, I said he played Mardi last year and he said he was there but he didn't know who he was at the time so he didn't bother seeing him.
He then said that he was going to Sleaze (a gay/ lesbian dance party) so I know for sure he's gay now :o) Well, for that reason and also because he was ogling a vid where a guy was singing in the shower *smiling*

Jeff Buckley is still my champ for Hallelujah. I like a biiiiig voice on that song :P
