This time it's J2 complete AU fics. So nothing where they end up or already have acted together in Supernatural. That's a rec list for another day.

This isn't meant to be a complete list, it's just stories I like. Also it's my way of saying thanks to the writers for the great stories. More please. There were too many for one post so this is the first part...

Atmospheric, noir, period tale that’s full of twists and turns. This is clever and surprising, but never at the expense of emotion and character.

Described as a non-hooker hooker fic. Melancholy, realistic and brave for not giving in to the fairy-taleness that is sometimes demanded.

Based on the movie 'But I'm a Cheerleader', Jared is sent to gay camp where he meets Jensen and finds true love. A lot of the CW crew show up but Jeff has the best role as a camp counsellor who wears "a blue t-shirt proclaiming Dicks are for pussies!, along with a pair of running shorts, a whistle from a lanyard hanging from around his neck". This is such fun.

A Tiny Piece Of You by crackedbuthappy
This is loosely based on the film ‘Return To Me’. Jared’s boyfriend dies and when he finally moves on a secret threatens to jar him straight back into the past. Featuring Jensen as the best boyfriend in the world and a heartbreaking Jared, this is a sad but ultimately hopeful read.

A Year In Limbo by sanyin
This is a fabulously detailed and evocative story featuring teacher Jensen and pupil Jared. “Jared zoned out on the lilt and fall of Jensen's voice as he recited the whole passage, in fucking Italian. Fluid syllables and rhythmic pauses. Did he not want them to listen? He had to admit though, if he had to fall asleep to something, this wasn't so bad. Jensen was obviously really into it, his cheeks a little flushed and hands flying. He even loosened his dorky tie as he went.”

Bar owner Jared hires Chris Kane and it's lust at first sight when he encounters backing singer Jensen. This was one of the first Jared/Jensen fics I read and I'm still all squeeee about it. It's cute. It's funny. Chad is annoying and Chris is a cockblocker. My only criticism....It's too short. I wanna see more.

Always By the Book by veronamay
I've got to say that I love Veronamay's writing. It's all about plot and characters. Straightforward and gripping.  Did I also mention fun? Grumpy FBI agent Jensen gets the nightshift babysitting flirty witness Jared.

And It's a Whole New Ball Game by kest
Long angstyish Jared and Jensen play baseball story.  Some, hell all, of the baseball stuff confuses me because English over here....but I still enjoyed the emotions of the fic. Just think how good you'd find it if you'd seen the sport at least once.

Without a doubt this is one of my all time favourite j2 stories. I’m not even certain I could put into words everything that makes this so enjoyable & sweet & engrossing. I’m pretty sure everyone will have already read this….and if not go, go now. Padalecki's voice was close and soft right in his ear, saying things like that, just—outright, no pussy footing around.” .

A J2 version of Dirty Dancing with Jensen as Baby and Jared as Johnny. Does anything more need to be said? "It was the summer of 1963. Before the Beatles came, before president Kennedy was shot. It was the summer of Jensen’s last year as UT student, when everyone in his family still called him Baby and it didn’t occur to him to mind, when he couldn’t wait to get his hands on his major, and when he still thought the only man he’d ever feel connected to would be his dad.”

An enjoyable story with really good characterisations and a neat plot. Jared’s an acting student with a crush on his teacher by day and a phone sex operator by night.

Jared is a conductor and Jensen a soloist in this awesome romantic comedy. The boys are just the cutest things ever, with flaily Jared so completely into what he's doing that he just loses track of the world around him and panicky but trying his best daddy Jensen. Also a big yay to the supporting cast whom so nicely round out this totally enjoyable universe.

Blended And Blessed, Paramedics & Daddies,  A Promise Is A Promise and Silence = Death by benitle

Yay. Schmoopy domestic goodness. Single daddy Jensen meets single daddy Jared when their kids get into a fight. This is a sweet slow-boil of a story with a really natural sense of development over time. Oh, and Jensen has a special piercing…Now with fantastic follow ups including the latest agsty meet-the-family epic.

Another of my favourites. This is one of the hottest series ever.  I think it’s because the porn is about the characters and it is the way it is because of the way the boys are. It’s that deftly written. Jared is a rancher who meets a kind of damaged Jensen at a Kane show.

A mighty fine big meaty fic where Jared is a rich playboy CEO & Jensen is his (secretly in lust with his boss) assistant. What happens when Jensen has to pretend to be Jared’s boyfriend? You’ll be charmed, that’s what.

Mechanic Jared meets writer Jensen in this sweet yet sad fic. I like the fact that in this one Jared is the woobie and Jensen gets the chance to take care of him and help him deal with his homophobic dad.

Intruguing series where conman Jensen needs to get to Jared to get to Jared's money. I was left pretty broken by the end, but the journey the author takes you on is so worth it.

Quite rightly, this epic fic has been hailed everywhere. It’s fantastic. Out-of-work actor Jared, takes a job looking after high-price hooker Jensen in a story that has the perfect amount of humour, angst and hot sex. “Jensen is so gorgeous that Jared is almost glad that he's so badly hung over because seeing this guy for the first time without some haze of headache and grogginess to dampen the effect could probably cause Jared's head to explode. That speculation leads him to wonder if perhaps Jensen is already bringing out the crazy in him.”

Yay. The CWRPS crew are all porn stars and Jared asks Jensen out on a date. This is one of those fics where the only thing wrong with it is that there’s not enough. More porn adventures…More…More. This is just so fun & hot & sweet. Plus Jared’s inner monologue food obsession is hilarious.

Surprisingly moving J2 version of the film ‘Equilibrium’. The story has a great mix of action and drama, which are blended seamlessly to drive along the narrative and keep the reader hooked. In a dystopian universe feelings are forbidden and Jensen is one of those that police the populace. Things change when he meets rebel Jared.

Feels Like Flying by micawbish
This story manages to have a great mix of the sweet and the funny. The boys are in a band with some of the other CW actors.

Five ways Jensen met Jared at the mall during the holiday season by chase_acow
Five wonderful vignettes of how different versions of Jared and Jensen could have met and fallen in love. So 5 AUs for the price of one. Yay. I’m especially fond of the homeless Jensen one. But then the kids one is so damn cute and…Damn it. I can’t choose.

Football’verse and ficlets Three Days Without Jared and Weight Training by bksncleverfic
What better setting for the boys than the world of American football? Now, I’ve never even seen the game but the author gives you enough information for this not to matter at all, it’s that cleverly written. Jared and Jensen have to learn to work together but something more than a professional relationship ensues once they get past all of Jensen’s insecurities and get down with Jared’s can do attitude. This is a really fantastic read and now comes with a bonus timestamp ficlet. Yay. I really can’t recommend this enough.

Epic school-aged story where Jensen’s dad gets involved with Jared’s mom and when they all move in together the bustle and flow of family dynamics changes the boys’ relationship in ways they could never foresee. The well-rounded supporting cast really help flesh out the universe and make it all the more believable.

Good Girls Don’t, But I Do by dollydolittle
This is a really fun and funny version of the film ‘Sorority Boys’. Jensen, Mike Rosenbaum and Christian ‘ugliest girl in the world’ Kane are the boys forced to crossdress so they can hide in a women’s sorority house - where they meet an amazing group of girls, ‘Jenny’ falls for frat-boy Jared and they figure out who really is the villain of the piece.

If Ackles was half the asshole the papers said he was then the job would be six months of hell. On the other hand, the man was as talented as he was beautiful and Jared was pretty sure he could happily sit and listen to his voice read the phone book much less recount, first hand, some of the most compelling and news-worthy stories of the last six years.”

He seems different. When he trudged up the drive to the church and asked politely for Father Singer, Bob thought he must be a lost traveller asking for directions. It took a minute for him to get past the road dust to see the collar and the rosary dangling from his belt. Even then, Bob wasn't sure this wasn't some sort of set-up until Jensen introduced himself, mild as a lamb.”

Such fantastic stories. Well written, well plotted and filled with fully drawn out characters. Funny and sad in equal measure, this perfectly hits all the emotional points. The first is a fic where medium Jared is the only one that can see Jensen. The second picks up with the boys a little down the line, just in time for murder and mayhem. ““You’re just this… gigantic dork,” Jensen continues. “Your hair is ridiculous, your nose too sharp and maybe a little on the big side. You never had sex and your taste in movies leaves a whole lot to be desired… and yet…” He smiles, his thumb brushing over Jared's cheekbone. “You’re the most beautiful thing I ever saw.”.”

Honey Flower, Apple and Lime (or, The Tale Of The Rake And The Footman) by veronamay

Another excellent story from veronomay. This one’s a period piece with Jensen as the lusty aristocrat and Jared as his innocent footman. The subtitle is pretty self-explanatory so I really shouldn’t have bothered…... It’s a tale of ribaldry.

How To Get in Shape and Other Life Lessons by lea_ndra  
Jensen is a trainer getting Jared into shape. “Your assistant said you’re going to be in an action movie by James Cameron and you start filming in three months? And you play some kind of iron-miner-turned-proletarian-hero in a post-apocalyptic world?”. Snarky banter, sweating, pizza deprivation and hot sex all make for a really enjoyable read.

How To Sell A Guy A House In Six Weeks by dijisun
A really fun AU story where Jared is a realtor trying to find the perfect home for fussy film director Jensen Ackles.
