US Marshall Jensen has to look after witness Jared in this tightly plotted and suspenseful mystery that will keep you guessing right up until the end. But that’s almost a red herring for the emotional core that this fic is really about. While Jared and Jensen are the foremost ‘pairing’, it’s the Jensen/Chris one that sets the tone, reading almost like a eulogy for the perfect man, and it’s heart wrenching.

I really love the fact that this fic deals with how Jensen feels having his two best friends involved with each other and how he worries as to where he fits in. And despite all the angst Jared goes through in having to tell his parents he’s involved with a man, it’s Chris’s quiet disappointment that’s upsetting. I should also point out that this series isn’t all about the pain and is really funny in places.

Things don’t quite go to plan when Jensen introduces Chris to Jared just to watch the sparks fly. Well they do, just not in the way he hopes. Although this is bittersweet, it’s always enjoyable and the Chris voice is just how I imagine him to be.

I missed this post, not sure how that happened! I love Jared/Chris as a pairing, for some reason I struggle with Jensen with anyone else except Jared. Weird isn't it, lol.

Heee. I'm the other way round. I can generally read Jensen with anyone. Jared with others generally leaves me a little 'meh' unless they're so well written that they draw me in regardless. I'm thinking it's because maybe I lean a little more towards Jensen in the pretty department....but then fictional Jared is often waaaay more fun to read than fiction Jensen....so who knows why!
